The Kiln is a round stool, 34 cm across and 44 cm high. It works as an extra seat at a desk or a table, and it also works as a side table beside an armchair.
The seat is turned from a 60 mm block of ash and dished 15 mm deep, so it fits the body and keeps a cup from sliding. Three turned legs fit into the seat with wedged joints. Three legs stand firm on an uneven floor, and the stool weighs 3 kg, so you can carry it with one hand.
Ash is a light wood with a straight grain. We finish it with a clear matt oil, and it turns a little more golden over several years of daylight.
